PVD Coating explained

Physical Vapor Deposition

PVD Coating describes a variety of vacuum deposition methods that can be used to produce a thin film of protection. PVD uses physical processes (such as heating, arc or sputtering) to produce a vapour of material, which is then deposited on the object which requires coating.

Fight against wear & tear

Benefits of PVD Coating

A coated component will provide for more resistance to heat & wear, thus giving the base a more solid framework.

PVD coatings work best in punishing environments with heavy loads and excessive wear like the use of bearings, gears, rollers, and other precision components.

Coatings we provide

Improve productivity, utilization, efficiency, and life cycle of complex manufacturingused in high technology fabrication with a coating of your choice:-

PentaForm

Successor of TiCN, applied on high strength machining tools, primarily on metal forming and stamping mould.

Chromium Nitride (CrN)

Prime choice for rubber/plastic injection related process, eliminates problem with polymer, especially sticky related issue.

AluminiumChromium Nitride (AlCrN)

General coating for high temperature machining tools, mostly on cutting tools, tap tools, insert etc.

Coating Process

1

Substrate Surface Preparation

In order for the industrial coating to take hold, the substrate - or the base material receiving the protective layer must be completely cleaned

2

Selecting the right coating & coating system

Selecting the right coating material & system is crucial depending on the type of wear & tear the material receiving the coating is going through

3

Curing & Drying

Industrial coatings need to be cured at the correct temperature for the appropriate duration to ensure high-performance

4

Inspection

This is the final stage of the PVD coating process. Parts will be inspected to ensure that the coating is in acceptable parameters

Carbide Cutting Tools

the use of PVD coating on carbide cutting tools is essential. the increase in tool life and heat resistance between a coated and uncoated tool is far in comparison.
